Conceived as an in-depth reflection on a practice developed over two decades, the book aims to convey the complexity of a body of work that encompasses photography, collage, found images, drawing, and video, tracing its evolution from its earliest forms to the present day.
For Spranzi, photography and video are above all ways of seeing and reinventing the world. Rather than prioritizing technique, he is interested in the elementary gestures of photography—looking, enlarging, reducing, reproducing, reassembling—understood as actions through which the image is continually analyzed, transformed, and rewritten. These processes generate bodies of work in which fragments, objects, and memories are staged, and where the familiar is subtly destabilized by shifts and suspensions of meaning.
The result of a close dialogue with the artist and graphic designer Filippo Nostri, this editorial project unfolds through a dual chronological and thematic approach. The book traces the evolution of Spranzi’s practice, highlighting recurring motifs that permeate and structure her work, such as the tension between scale and intimacy, the circulation and transformation of images, and the oscillation between reality and wonder.
This publication features original contributions by Cecilia Canziani, Ilaria Gianni, Estelle Hoy, Quinn Latimer, and Simone Menegoi, whose essays offer historically grounded interpretations, critical perspectives, and poetic variations that complement and echo Spranzi’s work.

Shipping
We ship from Wednesday to Saturday (except public holidays and annual closures).
An estimate of the delivery time is indicated when ordering. A shipment confirmation as well as a parcel tracking number will be sent to you by email when the parcel is picked up by the carrier.
The average times indicated do not constitute a strict deadline. LE BAL Books cannot be held responsible in the event of a late delivery.
If all of the books ordered are not in stock at the bookstore and you wish to receive the first part of your order, a delivery in two times is possible.
We deliver all over the world with the following carriers: La Poste, Chronopost, Colissimo, Mondial-Relay.

Pick up
The free pick up of your order at the bookstore is available upon presentation of an identity document. Any order not collected from the shop within one month of payment will be automatically refunded.
Shipping fees
Shipping costs are calculated based on the chosen carrier, the weight and the delivery address of your package. Once your order is in your cart, you can have an estimate of the shipping costs offered by each transport service.
Return
Retraction possible within 7 days from receiving the order. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Returned books must be in perfect condition. The bookstore reserves the right to refuse reimbursement of the books if this shouldn't be the case.
