In 2019, Guido Guidi and Gerry Johansson – two of the great masters of analogue photography of the 20th/21st century – took part in the ‘Verso Nord’ photography campaign, organised as part of the P=S+N project in Castelfranco , Veneto and the surrounding area. While Guidi focused his attention on the historical centre of this small town, concentrating on the architectural material to capture in detail, the layers of history and time, Johansson moved into the area of urban sprawl, evaluating through photography the cultural imagery of north-eastern Italy, where architecture and nature, housing and space become special witnesses of a random landscape with uncertain and mysterious features. Guido Guidi, by shifting his point of view – obtained through the use of a large-format camera (8×10″) – identifies an instrument for verifying reality, posing new questions about photography and its intrinsic codes. Gerry Johansson draws the substance of the places he encounters through traditional black and white photography. It aims to recompose the fragments of a public imaginary composed of micro-landscapes, poised ambiguously between estrangement and objectivity.

The average times indicated do not constitute a strict deadline. LE BAL Books cannot be held responsible in the event of a late delivery.
If all of the books ordered are not in stock at the bookstore and you wish to receive the first part of your order, a delivery in two times is possible.
We deliver all over the world with the following carriers: La Poste, Chronopost, Colissimo, Mondial-Relay.

Pick up
The free pick up of your order at the bookstore is available upon presentation of an identity document. Any order not collected from the shop within one month of payment will be automatically refunded.
Shipping fees
Shipping costs are calculated based on the chosen carrier, the weight and the delivery address of your package. Once your order is in your cart, you can have an estimate of the shipping costs offered by each transport service.
Return
Retraction possible within 7 days from receiving the order. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Returned books must be in perfect condition. The bookstore reserves the right to refuse reimbursement of the books if this shouldn't be the case.
